How You Can Find an Amazing Agent
Finding the right real estate agent to help you in your real estate goals can be daunting. You want someone who you're comfortable with and will work with you. While it may seem hard, it doesn't have to be difficult. Here are my three tips on how to select the right real estate agent:
1. Find a professional. You want to work with someone who is professional because this is a transaction. Buying a home is one of the most significant investments of your life. What does professionalism mean? To me, it’s someone who shows up on time, comes prepared to the meeting, dresses professionally, and looks at this as a career and not a hobby.
2. Someone who knows the market. Your real estate agent needs to know what’s happening in your neighborhood. What are the latest stats? Where is this market going? What are the days on market for your price point? What’s the list-to-sales price ratio? If they’re listing your house, what percentage of homes they list actually sell? You need to make sure they know your specific market.
3. Someone who cares about you and not just commissions. Agents get commissions. That’s how they make their living, but real estate is a relationship-based business. You want to ensure you’re working with someone who listens to your goals, hopes, and what you’re trying to accomplish. Make sure they’re looking out for your best interests rather than trying to push you into a decision.
